Terms & Conditions

Draft template — not yet reviewed by a solicitor. This is a reasonable starting point covering the areas a service business like this typically needs, but it hasn't been checked against UK consumer law (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015) or your specific circumstances. Have a solicitor review and adjust this before relying on it with real customers.

1. About us

Brightwork Yacht Care Ltd ("Brightwork", "we", "us") provides yacht valeting, detailing and maintenance services to privately-owned vessels, based in Poole, Dorset, UK. These terms apply to every booking made through our website, app, or directly with us.

2. Bookings and quotes

Quotes are provided based on the information you give us about your yacht and the work required, and may be adjusted if the vessel's actual condition differs materially on inspection. A booking is confirmed once we've agreed a date and scope of work with you, whether by email, phone, or through the app.

3. Access to your yacht

You're responsible for arranging safe and lawful access to your vessel for the agreed appointment, including any marina permissions required. We reserve the right to decline or postpone work if safe access isn't available, or if conditions (weather, sea state, or vessel condition) make it unsafe or impractical to proceed.

4. Cancellations and rescheduling

We ask for as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. [Add your specific notice period and any cancellation fee here — e.g., "Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice may be subject to a callout fee."] We'll always try to accommodate reasonable changes.

5. Pricing and payment

Prices shown on our website and app are indicative starting prices; your final price is confirmed at quote stage based on your yacht's size and condition. Payment is due [add your payment terms — e.g., "on completion of works" or "within 7 days of invoice"]. Membership fees are billed [monthly / at the start of each term] for the duration of your chosen term.

6. Our responsibility to you

We carry public liability insurance and take care to protect your vessel and its fittings throughout our work. If we cause damage to your yacht through our negligence, we'll put it right or cover reasonable repair costs, subject to our insurance terms. We're not responsible for pre-existing damage, wear, or defects we didn't cause.

7. Your responsibilities

Please let us know about anything unusual about your vessel, its materials, or recent repairs that might affect how we work, and remove or secure valuables before our visit. We're not responsible for loss of personal items left aboard.

8. Membership terms

Membership tiers (Seasonal, Signature, Custodianship) are offered on 6- or 12-month terms at the pricing shown at the time you sign up. [Add your renewal, early-termination, and price-change terms here.]

9. Data and privacy

We hold the personal and vessel information you give us in order to provide our services, in line with UK data protection law. We don't sell your data to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full detail on what we collect and your rights.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
